Pitch is more interesting musically. Low pitched sounds vibrate slowly and require physically large instruments to produce them for example the tuba. High pitched sounds vibrate rapidly and correspond with much smaller instruments, for instance, the piccolo. However if you were to look inside a grand piano, the left hand notes that produce low pitches sounds, seem to correspond to the longer strings present. Concurrently, the right hand notes that produce the higher pitches sounds seem to, correspond to short strings.
Pitch and loudness do seem to play a significant role as to why, different instruments produce different notes but, they don’t accommodate for the whole conclusion. If a clarinet and a piano play notes of the same pitch and loudness, the sounds will still be quite distinct.
